12-10-12

We just got hit with a bunch of snow. It is white....Here. It is not so white at my school because people trample the snow with their dirty boots, but that's mostly in the field.
My Christmas piano recital is coming up. I am playing "White Christmas" and have been practicing it a ton. I think my family is sick of it because even I am and I'm playing it. I'm also playing "Tomorrow" and "A Journey in the Arctic." My piano teacher and I renamed "A journey in the Arctic" because we are not ready for it to be winter yet. Now the song is called "The Seesaw".
We made Christmas cookies yesterday. We made snowman cookies. In the snowman cookies, we have to use sugar. In order to make the cookies healthier, we put sugar in the raw in the cookies. Sugar in the raw has a brownish tint to it. The dough turned out kind of a brown color. It was funny. I guess our snowmen will actually be dirtmen. Have a verry MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Oh, and one more thing. If you make snowmen cookies, DO NOT USE SUGAR IN THE RAW! THEY WILL LOOK LIKE DIRTMEN!

12-9-12

I am very excited for two reasons. First, I am in the Christmas program that our Sunday School is doing. I am an angel. Also, my friend and I asked my teacher if we could do a play at the end of the year since we are the oldest kids in the school. My teacher said yes and also told me that I could write the play. I can't wait to do the auditions. We are going to have a bunch of people help us.
I am also very excited because my mom and I are going to see "The Nutcracker" that my ballet studio is showing. I could not be in it because I was gone the day of the auditions. There are only about 4 or 5 kids in the whole ballet studio that aren't doing it. That either means that I'm insane or unique. I would rather be unique so I take it that way.
I can't wait for Christmas. Can you? The Christmas Eve service is the best part of the whole season.
One more thing. I was at Sunday School today and I saw a sticker that said "Jesus is the reason for the season." Remember that when you're out and about this season.

12-8-12

I am so sorry that it took me so long to get back on the blog.
The tree is up and decorated. People are running around the town, doing last minute shopping. The scent of pine needles lingers in the air. It's like a true life version of the song "Silver Bells".
I also have other news. I sent in an application for the camp "Author Quest". It had to be 100 words at least. Mine was about 300 words or so. Anyway, last night, my mom called me downstairs from my room. She was holding a printed e-mail. She acted like it was really bad news. She handed me the paper. I was about half-way into it when my mom pointed to the last line and told me to read it. It said 'See you in June, Madelyn'. I was so happy. I finished reading the e-mail and jumped for joy. It was the best news that I had heard in quite a while.
Some other things have been happening as well. I won an award for my essay about patriotism and freedom and also started to do Reading Olympics. In Reading Olympics, you have to sign up. Then you have to read at least seven out of the twenty-five books. If you do that, you get on a team. The local competition is in March. Whatever team wins that gets to go to the finals. I already qualified.  Right now, I am reading In the Year of the Boar and Jackier Robinson. It is awesome. I would recomend it to anyone.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT!

11/30/11

This week, we've had a lot of birthdays going on. First, there was my big brother's, then my little brother's, then my aunt's! Whew! A lot of gifts for some very special people!
I am hoping that you all had a great Thanksgiving. I VERY much hoping that you will have a very merry Christmas. Now, for the story of the day!

The teacher's Christmas
One day in Swittsleland, there lived a fair maiden, and she had to go to school. She went to school, and when she got there, she discovered that her teacher was not there. It was a new teacher with long brown hair, big blue eyes, and a long beautiful  purple  dress. To complete her outfit, she had on a long purple and blue striped blanket-looking headdress.  She looked amazing! She was writing a book. The fair maiden  walked over to the teacher, and asked her, "What's your name?" The teacher replied, "My name is Mary.  My husband's name is Joseph. I am a virgin. My son's name is Jesus"

I hope you enjoyed!

11-21-11

Hi guys! Guess what? I'm going to Crystal Mountain, and if you read this blog before, you would know about this place. My dad got off of work early on the day that we are going, so, we get to get there ealier than we would have if we left after school.  Now it's time for the story of the day!

Three Thanksgiving Wishes
Once opon a time, where the grass was green, there was a little boy, Jackson. He lived in a wonderful house. It was full of big mirrors, so full, they had to make mirror couches and mirror chairs. He was just sitting in one of those mirror couches, when he noticed a faint glow coming from one of the mirror cushions. He lifted up the cushion and to his surprise, there was a glowing bull. Only, the bull had 18 horns instead of two. "Hello!" The bull said. "Gee wiz!" said Jackson. "You're a real flying fairy bull!" "You bet I am." said the bull. And I'm here to give you three Thanksgiving wishes. Give me three wishes, and I will fulfill them" "Okay," said Jackson, "Here's the first one, I want unlimited wishes! Millions and millions and millions! Give them all to me!" "Jasmine told me not to do this." said the bull. And with that, he flew off.

Sorry!

Dear Readers,
I am SSSSOOO sorry that I have not written in so long. Jake has gotten really big. He is now 6 1/2 months old. Here is a letter from Jake.

Dear people,
My owners are great! They totally rock. I am now attending Obedience School. It is great. My friend Jax is awesome. He is now one year old.
Love your puppy/friend,
Jake

What do you think?
Well, now it's time for the daily story!

Once, there was a family. They were meeting up at some houses. They watched a lot of football. It was great. Then next day, they had to go home. They were very sad. When they got home, their uncle who moved to Japan was there. The fun was not over after all.

Your sorry friend,
Madelyn Joy

7-1-11

Tomorrow I am going to a place called Crystal  Mountain Resort. This place has a water park, a swimming pool, and my grandmother owns a place there. Thanks for letting us stay there, Grandma E.! While we are there, we always see our cousins. I like seeing Audrey and Courtney the best.
We also get to stop and see my Grandma and Grandpa Y. and see their cute dog Sparky.  He's a good boy! My grandpa loves when we come because grandma makes lots of cookies. Sam loves to play the drums in the basement.
At the water park at Crystal Mountain, there are fake lillypads. One time I tried to go under one of them, but a person was on top of  it, so I had to swim through. It was really scary.
At Crystal Mountain there is also a gigantic slide. You have to be a certain height to go alone. Lucky little me grew two inches this year, so I might just be able to go alone.
Well, Jake is doing really well with the training and everything and when we go to Crystal Mountain, my dad will stay home and take care of him. How nice is he??
